Steven R. Covey Life Legacy
by admin on Mar.11, 2010, under Children, Family
Today’s post comes from a great website called standstrong.tv. The website is by Filip Matous, this brave dude from England who does whatever it takes to talk to people and have them answer one question… “What’s the main thing you want your life to be remembered for?” Pretty sweet eh? Have you thought about that one recently? One guy who has is Steven R. Covey!
Filip caught up with him at a Covey conference, and asked him that question… His response was surprising, but inspiring at the same time!
Thanks Filip for the great video.

I saw this commercial on the other night and knew it was going on the website! It is a great reminder of where not only all the Olympians have come from but where all of us have come from also and who we have to thank.
Thank you mom! I love you and thank you for all you have sacrificed for me… to get me where I am at today.

Olympics- Derek Redmond
by admin on Feb.12, 2010, under About Fathers, Family, Sports
Since today is the start of the Olympics I figured it would only be fitting to have an inspirational Olympic video on here.
Derek Redmond was favored to win the 400 meter sprint in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. However midway through the race the unthinkable happened… Despite his setback Redmond shows us how to finish what we start. With the help of his father he is able to finish what he has started.
Let’s do the same! Finish what you start. Don’t give up when things get hard!

A special thanks to Scott for sharing this inspirational video with me. He must have known my wife was pregnant because this video is about a newborn baby and his parents!
99 Balloons is the story of Eliot, a newborn born with Edward’s disease. His parents cherish every moment they have with him because they aren’t suppose to have many moments with him. Already I am cherishing the time that I have with my child(my wife is 19 weeks pregnant). He/she is moving already! Last night I felt him kick several times and he’s only about 19 weeks along! I feel a small connection with him/her already.
Even if God chooses to take my baby before I get to hold him/her, my “time on earth will be the only that separates me from him/her”. I feel the same for my brother. I was lucky to have 23 years with him and my time on earth is the only thing that separates me from seeing him again. It’s true.
Cherish the time you have with loved ones and have hope that you will see them again.

I received this link from my Aunt Lynette about a boy who was born without eyes and unable to walk. You would think that the opportunity for him in this life is limited and he has little potential, yet he accomplishes grand things.
Have you ever thought about your real potential? How much opportunity you really have? At difficult times in my life I have had a short sighted view of what I can do and accomplish. When things are going bad it’s hard to look beyond the day to day. But when I’ve tried new things and got out of my comfort zone I’ve realized that the only thing that is limiting me is… me!
What opportunity and potential is really out there?
Thanks Aunt Lynette!
